Fire and Safety services

Fire and Safety Services

In addition to the energy efficiency service we provide we are experienced and qualified safety practitioners.

We have a wide experience of safety related work varying from safety team meetings for sports stadia to local construction sites and working within the railway environment.

Whither it is a site inspection that is required or the preparation of a site specific risk assessment we can help reduce the complexity and provide competent common sense advice at a reasonable cost.

Qualified to degree level in Occupational safety and health and Fire risk Engineering, coupled with our working experience we believe we are able to provide a quality service employers will find difficult to refuse.

We regularly carry out assessments of existing building to provide occupiers with a fully prepared risk assessment document that acts as a guide to comply with the fire regulations in Scotland. This is supported with regular training to staff where this is required by employers. Like all services we provide we carry this out in a cost effective and professorial manner.

Fire Safety and the Building Standards.

As well as providing the usual guidance and direction to employers on Fire Safety within the workplace we also provide the service of a qualified and experienced Fire Engineer.

The building Standards allow for alternative solutions to meet the relevant technical standards contained within the technical handbook. Not all buildings are the same and sometimes an alternative solution has to be agreed to allow the construction project to get under way. Being Fire engineers we can review a proposed design and make recommendations that should be safe, easy to implement and cost effective.

Further to the above a requirement of the procedural Handbook states when the application for a building warrant is submitted after the 1st October 2013. The ‘relevant person’ must submit a Fire Safety Design Summary (FSDS) with the completion certificate. As a qualified Fire Engineer we can advise on this requirement and provide a third party assessment of the details contained within the document. Where designers are not comfortable in compiling such information we can carry out this function and provide this in a manner the Building standards officer should be happy to accept.

Cost of services

Due to the wide varying nature of safety and fire safety related works providing an average cost is very difficult. All site visits and on site assessments of buildings are fully supported by a full assessment document. Quotes can be provided on request.

Woodend Safety and Sustainability can provide training to employees within there workplace regarding Fire Safety and general workplace safety. Training is site specific with fire related training supported by way of the use of fire extinguishers on site at the completion of the said training event. All training events include the provision of certificates. Most training events involve an assessment of understanding on completion of the training event to ensure the message has been fully understood by those attending. Fire Safety training sessions for employees start from £140.00+VAT, Including the provision and use of Fire extinguishers by staff.
